Why See A Private Midwife?
Postnatal care is a great tool to help ease your transition into parenthood. Read about Amy's positive postnatal experience below...
Amy was a second time mum who had experienced breastfeeding problems with her first baby 2 years prior. Although she was seeing a private obstetrician, she wanted to engage a private midwife before her birth. During her antenatal sessions, we analysed her breastfeeding experience to identify how it could be improved this time around. We planned for 1-2 weekly home visits after discharge from hospital.
After 6 weeks of regular postnatal visits, Amy was fully breastfeeding independently and her baby was thriving with weight gains. Amy reported that her emotional health was significantly better this time around, attributing this to the regular support from a private midwife.
